Lesson 10: Learning the 4, 5, 6, and 7 keys

The "4" key

To type the "4" key, start with your left index finger on the "F" key. Reach with your left index finger in an upward angle to the left. To type the "$", hold the Shift key. Return your left index finger to the "F" key.

The "5" key

To type the "5" key, start with your left index finger on the "F" key. Reach with your left index finger straight up. To type the "%", hold the Shift key. Return your left index finger to the "F" key.

The "6" key

To type the "6" key, start with your right index finger on the "J" key. Reach with your right index finger in an upward angle to the left. If you are using an ergonomic keyboard with the "6" key on the left half of the board, reach with your left index finger in an upward angle to the right. To type the "^", hold the Shift key. Return your right index finger to the "J" key.

The "7" key

To type the "7" key, start with your right index finger on the "J" key. Reach with your right index finger straight up. To type the "&", hold the Shift key. Return your right index finger to the "J" key.
